The A-Team is one of the most iconic shows of the 80's.It's right up there with the likes of Knight Rider,Airwolf,Magnum P.I and MacGyver in terms of popularity. It is also the most insane, silly, over the top action show of its era.But despite its flaws it is a funfilled entertaining show.Running for 5 seasons and 98 episodes, from 1983 to 1987,the show was an immediate success.People got hooked to the adventures of Hannibal(George Peppard),Face(Dirk Benedict),Murdock(Dwight Schultz) and the most popular character of the show,B.A Baracus(Mr.T).
All the episodes had basically the same storyline.People being harassed by bullies, those exploited people contacting the A-Team and the A-Team coming to their rescue and saving them in the end. That was the pattern throughout the show. But despite the repititiveness you end up enjoying the show.
When i first saw the show on television in early 2000's,i hated it.I found the characters(none more so than Murdock) extremely annoying. It was the second season. But i decided to give it another go on DVD in 2009(I had nothing else to watch at that time).I again started with season 2 and for some odd reason i started liking the show as it moved forward.By the end of the season 2 i had become a fan and ended up watching all the seasons. It is just the sort of light hearted show that you want to watch these days to escape the worries and problems of life for a while. The first 3 seasons are the best. The quality of the show dipped in Season 4 and it got worse in season 5.But on the whole it is a satisfying show.
