INNA - Club Rocker (Official Music Video)

Revolutionary Road

Based on the novel by Richar Yates, Directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes. Starring 3-time Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio, 5-time Oscar nominee and 1-time Oscar winner Kate Winslet and Kathy Bates.

The film tells the story of a young married couple Frank and April Wheeler. The two met at a party, fall in love and get married, pausing their life plans for a while; as they put it "its only temporary!'' Well then, after a few years, Frank has a lousy job he doesnt even like much, April is a housewife and the couple have 2 kids. They appear to be a great couple to their friends but things begin to fall apart when the 2 think of getting a new life in Paris, figuring everything out but face problems projecting it. The 2 begin to fight, cheat and everything all the while trying to work on their marriage as well.

I wont tell what exactly happens in the movie because it will just ruin it for the person.

In the movie Leo and Kate give exceptionally extra-ordinary performances, applauded by critics and movie-lovers all around and speciall Kate Winslet!

Kate was nominated for numerous awards, winning the Golden Globe, the same night she won a Golden Globe for The Reader (2 wins, YAYYY). She would've been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress but she was nominated for The Reader instead (also winning it). The Academy considered her perfomance in The Reader as a leading one, unlikely of SAG and Golden Globes. And as per Academy rules, an actor/actress can avail only one nomination in a single category. Had she been nominated in the supporting category for The Reader (which she would have won obviously) she would've been nominated for the leading role for Revolutionary Road (hopefully winning it too.) *SIGH*

-But there is something very true about this movie.

DJ Earworm - Party on the Floor (Capital FM Summertime Ball Mashup)

Delhi Belly

Very rarely we come across a film that disgusts and delights in equal measure. A film that has us crinkling our nose, yet sticking a thumb up for approval. Delhi Belly is one such film. And though many of us feel, we're too old for potty humour, we're not. As you would imagine, Delhi's Belly manifests an upset stomach, rumbling constantly, warning you of its ominous contents. This sound can be roughly translated in words, by the song, 'I want to break free' by Queen.

The storyline is fairly uncomplicated for films in this genre. Parallel stories collide at certain parts but it seems natural and not Kukunoor-ish. The film is about three Delhi bachelors, Tashi (Imran Khan), Arup (Vir Das) and Nitin (Kunaal Roy Kapoor), living in (by far) the filthiest bachelor pad constructed by any set designer ever.

Professionally, Arup is a cartoonist for an ad agency (weren't they called illustrators?), Tashi is a diligent journalist and Nitin is his photographer. Like every self-respecting bachelor, our lead trio has a sheer contempt for any household work and their landlord. Their routine life gets sticky once they get their shit mixed up (literally!) and deliver a wrong package. And just for fun, the wrong package is a stool sample!

Like 'Snatch', diamonds are the object of everyone's desire here too. But unlike 'Snatch', we just have one group of scums hunting for them that is headed by Somayajulu (Vijay Raaz). While they're on the run, they're joined by Menaka (Poorna Jagannathan) who hints on a subliminal relationship with Tashi but he's already going steady with doll-faced Sonia (Shenaz Treasurywala). Thankfully, this doesn't culminate into a love triangle.

A lot of people get seriously injured, a ceiling collapses, a few cars are dented but when you see a man with a live firecracker sticking out of his bum, you can hardly help yourself. Also you have Nitin taking dysentery to a level where the sound produced cannot be replicated by blowing into one's hand.

An aspect this film blatantly ignores is that our lead trio doesn't demonstrate Delhi-speak which is using voluminous and imprecise expressions in an idiotic fashion to say anything. But what it loses out in manner of speech, it makes up in visuals, as you see Delhi in its smuttiest and most deplorable avatar.

Among the cast, Vir is clearly the most talented and entertaining of the three and Imran is the least. Poorna is vivacious and lights up the screen with her personality and Shehnaz is, well, forced into ill-fitting clothes.

'Delhi Belly' is well-paced and the screenplay is cleverly woven to hold your attention and interest through the 96 minutes of its runtime. And although most songs are just used as a background score, 'Jaa Chudail' picturised on Vir's failed relationship is hilariously crazy.

This film may not be appetizing for all, but it surely has an appetite for potty sounds. A farting blockbuster for sure!

.
Reema Khan, the director and producer of the film, claims that Love Mein Ghum is the most expensive film to be made in Lollywood, as she in an interview said, "I have not compromised on any aspect of the movie, from Music to clothes, and from sets to post production everything is done with open heart and no no compromises were made, the best available gadgets were used for the movie production and post-production".

Shahid Rafique, a businessman claimed that he has also got a share in the film as Reema, the film's director borrowed Rs. 17.5 Million from him and promised to return the money with the it's release which was denied by Reema. Representatives of Reema, however claim that there is no such thing and Reema had no contract with Shahid Rafique, also the Film Distributer's Association of Pakistan, after listening to both the parties gave the decision in favor of Reema and said "Rafiq didn’t show enough evidence to prove his claim of sharing investment in Reema’s next directorial project. We decided to merit in favour of Reema".
As the Film Distributor's Association is on the side of Reema, Rafique is planning to file a civil/criminal case against the director in court.

The film has been given a rating of 7.73/10 by "Galaxy Lollywood" and is graded as a B+ Grade film. Music of the film is above average and so is the cast, but it is the film's budget, which has scored the highest (10/10) as Reema claims that the film is going to be the most expensive one of Lollywood. It is also the most talked-about film in Pakistani cinema, after Shoaib Mansoor's second film Bol, that has scored 9/10.

Pyaar Ka Panchnama- Movie Review

Disclaimer: This movie is appropriate for people above 16 at leaset!

Firstly, according to me its so far the best movie of 2011 and every guy should watch it (not that I have anything against girls) but seriously, one of the ebst guy-movies ever :p

Something very nice about the movie is that it stars all new-comers, all new talent and that makes it more fun and natural. The tag line of the movie is 'Come ...fall out of love.'

The movie tells the story of three besties, Rajat(Rajjo), Vikrant(Vicky) and Nishant(Liquid). They live in the same apartment, young and dont give a damn about the world. Vikrant is all chill-shill guy with his guitar, Rajat is a happy-go-lucky one and Liquid..is just Liquid. He's never been in a relationship so he is hell frustrated and that is told to him by his friends time and again.

In this review, I wont tell a bit of the story because all fun is in watching it and seriously enjoying it. The movie is very natural and true 'cause this stuff actually does happen and not all girls arent like the ones shown in this film but the ones who are, they are sooo hell rightly shown and projected. According to me, everyone who will see or has seen the movie an relate to it somehow, even if its like really rare!

The film has a great great great song called 'Ban gaya kutta' and is A-W-E-S-O-MMMMM-E :D
Also, there's a seen in the movie when Rajat is really frustrated and is telling Vikrant the 'Truth about women" and that is the highlight of the entire movie!

well, some people may differ from me about this but Hey, i loved it :p

Monte Carlo

Small-town Texas waitress/fresh grad Grace (Selena Gomez) yearns for more glam in her life, and she saves up for a dreamy Parisian jaunt with best friend Emma (Katie Cassidy). Things take a nosedive when Grace's uptight stepsister Meg (Leighton Meester) is forced to chaperone them. Still smarting from their dumpy Parisian accommodations, Grace is mistaken for a snotty British socialite, and—in a sly case of identity swap—she and the gals are suddenly whisked away to Monte Carlo for a fantasy vacation of glamorous hotels, glitzy parties, stunning clothes and eligible guys. But as a snoopy onlooker starts to piece together the charade, their frilly veneer threatens to unravel.

Take cover, it's a teen bomb! This powder keg mixes Gomez's pluckish Disney fairy dust with the combustible cynicism of Meester and the sex-kitten spark of Cassidy—both erstwhile co-stars on "Gossip Girl." It's Gomez, however, who's got the most at stake, as she leaves the teen-idol fold while avoiding a post-Disney trainwreck of Miley Cyrus proportions. She's off to a decent start with last year's politely received "Ramona and Beezus."

What's this? Proof that it's possible to make a solid teen movie without devolving into a pop-tart junk-a-thon? OMG indeed. Sure, the froth is still here—the giggles, the googly eyes, the princessy ball-gown bona fides—but it arrives more like a smartly portioned serving of Diet Coke rather than a bloated root beer float that threatens to whip you into a synthetic sugar high. Writer-director Thomas Bezucha ("The Family Stone") tackles the unabashedly lightweight fare with an equally light touch, reigning in the hamminess and clipping the cloying tics before they even start. Which means you won't really find grating, Taylor Swift-ish tween ditties on the soundtrack, which opts instead for a wonderfully brassy, big-band score by Pixar fave Michael Giacchino that's more old school that high school. It's great to see Meester, all wound up and prudish here, playing against bitchy type, but "Monte Carlo" coasts mainly on Gomez's easygoing, everygirl charm. She's also quite funny, switching between two roles and accents—she also plays the stuck-up British socialite—with the kind of restrained aplomb that recalls the spunky promise of a pre-meltdown Lindsay Lohan in 1998's "The Parent Trap." "Monte Carlo" isn't immune to its locked-in cliches—the strains of "La Vie En Rose," the swooning shots of the Eiffel Tower. But for a movie whose genre pitfalls loom like narrative tourist traps, it makes for a surprisingly pleasant travel buddy.

Nicole Kidman is a producer on the film, which was adapted from a novel that originally featured Midwest teachers who impersonate European socialites. At one point, she and Julia Roberts were attached to star in it

Transformers 3 "Dark of the Moon"

In "Imaginationland: Part 1," the tenth episode of the eleventh season of South Park, Al-Queda terrorists attack our imagination. The U.S. Military has no idea how to fix this problem, so they consult some Hollywood filmmakers in an attempt to get one. One of these Hollywood filmmakers is Michael Bay.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon in a nutshell -- a big, loud, cracking, pulsating nutshell that's ready to burst into flame a thousand times over and shower little nutshell pieces all over the entire population of a major American city.
You need to see this thing, even if you're not a fan of either the giant alien robots or of Mr. Bay. You need to see this movie, in a theater, in 3D, and preferably in IMAX. It truly is a sight to see -- a big, beautiful, shining symphony of chaos, especially in the final act, which involves the Decepticons (including Shockwave, who's almost as awesome as fans have hoped he would be) completely leveling Chicago for what seems like an hour's worth of screen time. If nothing else, you'll be floored by the amount of work and artistry required to make this sequence (and this entire movie) come to life -- there were a lot of late nights and short tempers on this flick, for sure.

Yeah, yeah, it's "darker" and "more serious" than the wretched second movie, Revenge of the Fallen, but really, who gives a shit? No matter what the damn "tone" of the movie is, the script is still as much an incoherent mess as any that's come before it. We're not going to point fingers at that any more, because that seems to be something that the filmmakers inexplicably just can't get right with this franchise. So be it.

So we'll look at Dark of the Moon as a glass that's half-full rather than half-empty. It's a brash, boisterous, incredible spectacle, one that will leave you exhausted and perhaps even exhilarated. Optimus Prime gets to kick so much ass in this. Leonard Nimoy voices the Autobot leader's predecessor, Sentinel Prime, which is all sorts of geek cool. Laserbeak, the Decepticon's bird-like spy, is in this, and he's creepy and lizard-like and awesome. None of the robots fart, and there's no sign of Mudflap and Skids, the illiterate robot "brothers" with big lips and blackface that were responsible for plunging Revenge of the Fallen to its lowest lows. John Turturro thankfully sits on the bench through most of this one. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is hotter than Megan Fox, she's certainly hot enough. And Shia LaBeouf sweats and freaks out and screams a lot

ZINDAGI NA MILAYGI DOBARA

After a long long time i came across a movie which i can say "I LOVED IT" its main cast includes HRITHIK ROSHAN as ARJUN , FARHAN AKHTAR as IMRAN ,ABHAY DEOL as KABIR & KATRINA KAIF as LAILA. The movie has a nice story something out of the box not the same old typical love stories with villains and all.The dialogues are awesome and full of fun and the acting is superb.

The story is about 3 friends who plan their fantasy vacation which has a location and an sport to be done by all three but neither one of them knows about others one location and sport till the reach the destination, the trip started off when one of the friends got engaged and asks for his bachelor party in the form of this trip i am not disclosing who gets engaged as it'll ruin your fun.The three friends decide SPAIN as their holiday location and sets off their each one plans adventurous sport and other two abides by it, in the midst of this all they come across Katrina and Hrithik falls in love with her with an amazing kiss scene long awaited by kat's fans ;).The locations and the beauty of the scenes is worth watching along with that i am startled by Farhan Akhtar's performance he was so comic in his scenes and dialogues that i just couldn't take my eyes off him..no don't take me wrong :p as in he did superb acting and dialogue delivery in my opinion he was better then all of his co-stars,specially the quotes he delivered throughout was written by Javed Akhter and were delivered in the background at right times.

On the whole it is a superb movie its in other words a MUST WATCH for Bollywood friends i didn't found any part of this movie which i could relate saying boring. Its a fantastic movie with great direction ,story and acting not to forget the killer Hritik looks for his die heart fans and hot and sizzling Katrina Kaif.

I would rate this movie 9-10 :) enjoyyy

Bad Teacher

Cameron Diaz plays Elizabeth Halsey, a vain, greedy, sexy woman who, for some reason, has become the busty bad teacher. The movie opens on the last day of school after Elizabeth’s first year of teaching. After just one year, Elizabeth is set to leave teaching for good. She races home in her Mercedes Benz to find her wealthy boyfriend and his mother waiting for her with bad news: she’s dumped. Instead of marrying the man who could take care of her exorbitant financial needs and living happily ever after, she finds herself back at the middle school, becoming “across the hall mates” with Amy Squirrel, complete opposite of Elizabeth: she’s a goody-good teacher that is always trying to overachieve. Both women set their sights on the new substitute teacher – Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake) – who happens to be incredibly wealthy. Along with pursuing Scott, Elizabeth is also trying to find the money to afford breast enhancement surgery. She figures that with a bigger chest, Scott will fall for her in an instance.

Bad Teacher is little more than a story of what one woman will do to get bigger breasts. In order to add the smallest minutia of depth, the filmmakers add in Jason Segel’s character: a gym teacher who is attracted to Elizabeth. This addition is so weak, though, that Bad Teacher would have been better off without it. If the characters were more fleshed out, and some reasons were given for his or her actions, this thin layer of depth may have had a stronger impact. As it is, there are a lot of one-dimensional characters that are difficult to care about.

Captain America : The First Avenger

Guess who is back, Its captain America the producers for the big budget movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" movie are moving the production of the $140 million film on the patriotic Marvel Comics superhero from sunny Los Angeles to soggy London, it was reported today.

Marvel Studios co-President Louis Depositor told the Los Angeles Times they were outsourcing of one of the country’s greatest resources for financial and common sense reasons.

Depositor said it wouldn’t have been economically feasible to do stage work in LA and shoot exteriors in London given the heavy filming required in Europe.
I actually had location scouts [in LA] to see what could be done," he said. "But it would have required so much visual-effects work and set construction, it didn’t make sense."

He also told the paper that England’s favorable tax incentives played a role in the decision-making as well.

The report noted that Marvel Studios had shot most of its first three projects "Iron Man," "Iron Man 2" and "Thor" — in Los Angeles. "Thor," starring Chris Hems worth as the hammer-swinging Norse god of thunder, recently wrapped filming and is set to open in May of next year. "Captain America" is scheduled to open in July of 2011, and then all three characters are expected to team-up for "The Avengers" in 2012.
Other Marvel mainstays such as the Hulk may appear in the movie as well.
While the Captain not-in-America announcement has angered many fans online because the red, white and blue costumed crime fighter is as American as apple pie, the character doesn’t have any West Coast roots.

In the comics, the shield-slinging defender of the American way is a New York guy named Steve Rogers who was born and raised on the Lower East Side during the Great Depression. After a few decades in suspended animation, he emerges into modern life and moves to the more affordable Red Hook, Brooklyn.

The Sentinel of Liberty got involved in World War 2 a full year before his country did the cover of the December, 1940 Captain America No. 1 features him slugging Hitler in the face.

Grey's Anatomy (TV show)

Grey's Anatomy, one of the greatest T.V shows ever (according to me at least) tells the story of Medical interns (who are now doctors) and their personal lives which revolves all around the hospital they work in, Seattle Grace Hospital and the people in it. The show originally airs in America, on abc networks. Concieved by Shonda Rhimes, also written, produced and partially directed.

The series stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey (the title character), also stars Sandra Oh as Christina Yang, Katherine Heigl as Isobel 'Izzie' Stevens, T.R.Knight as George O'Malley, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, Isiah Washington as Preston Burke, Sara Ramirez as Callie Torres, Kate Walsh as Addison Shepherd, James Pickens Jr as Richard Webber, Eric Dane as Mark Sloan, Chyler Leigh as Lexie Grey, Kevin McKidd as Own Hunt and Jessica Capshaw as Arizona Robbins.

-What a LONG ENSEMBLE CAST!

Anyways, the series has a very fine element of comedy but is hell as good at the emotional end and can also make you cry. The series start with Meredith having a one-night stand with a man named Derek on the day of her 1st working day as an intern and tells him to never contact her or remember this (something like no strings attached). Well, she goes to Seattle Grace and there meets her fellow interns, later who turn out to be her 'family', Christina, George, Izzie and Alex, while they get the toughest resident, Dr.Bailey also known as the Nazi of the hospital. The Chief of the hospital is Richard Webber who has a little something to do with Meredith and her personal life.

As the first season evolves, the interns learn alot and go through some of the toughest procedures, learning as well also leaning through their personal lives. Meredith is somewhat interested in Derek and the two have an on-off relationship, while Christina is competitive, edgy and would do anything for surgery and being number 1. She begins to fall for fellow resident Dr. Burke and the two date. Izzie is the sweetest of all and is emotional and fragile, falling for Alex who is a total bad-ass, rough attitude kinda guy and finally George, who is reffered as Bambi sometimes, he has feelings for Meredith. The interns become close friends, Meredith and Christina becoming the closest, Izzie and George are besties. Everyone goes through rough roads in the hospitals, be it professionaly or personally. By the end of first season is introduced Addison, who is Derek's wife *shocking, killer finale*.

As the series procedes, Meredith and Derek break up and go through some serious issues, Christina and Burke get serious, also all the while all are learning to be great doctors. They also go through the most dire of circumstances, bad times and love. Dr.Bailey is on the edge of killing her interns if they screw anything but she is totally loving and a good teacher.

There is so much to write about, also there are 7 seasons to describe and summarize. But I can't screw the fun, you've got to watch it yourself. If you do wanna watch it, you can get it from the Video Range DVD/CD shop in Def Ph.4

Back to anatomy, it is a total tear-jecking drama, specially season 2 and 3 since I cried like hell during the running of the show.

The series also features a fantabulous soundtrack, the title track is by Psapp. Notable tracks of the drama include chasing cars by Snow patrol (which I love), How to save a life by The Fray (I love it too), The story by Brandi Carlile, Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson, 2 a.m (breathe) by Anna Nalick (my fav!!) and many more.

Also the Drama has won numerous accolades and awards. To me, its like one of the bestest shows on TV. Performances by Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Chandra Wilson are particularly applauded. The series enjoyed great ratings, specially during season 2-3. Also generates a great amount of money for the abc network.

One of the best episodes include episode 17-19 of season 2, the last 2 episodes of season 2, episode 3 of season 3, finale of season 3, episode 18,20 and finale of season 5, finale of season 6 and the special musical episode of season 7.

Grey's anatomy is my fav show and its hard to live without it. Not everyone may enjoy it. Its a very soft, emotional drama but hey, who am I to say...I adore it! ;)

My Ratings: 9/10

BUDHA HOGA TERA BAAP

Boys and Girls after a long time i came across a movie which is not a super hit but at the same time not crap. This movie's main attraction is "AMITABH BACHAN" AS "VIJJU" who is after a long time seen in a heroic role ,though people totally missed him he did not just dissapointed them this time as he ain't playing a child in this one as in "PAA"  :p along with AMITABH cast includes "SONU SOOD" AS "ACP KARAN MALHOTRA" this is the same guy who played role of a goon in DABANNG ,munni badnaam song ;) Actress opposite AMITABH is "HEMA MALINI", the famous couple from "BAGHBAN".

Movie starts with a series of bomb blasts in the city and Acp Karan after the culprits in the process the gangsters want Acp karan dead and adopts every mean to have their work done, at that moment of time AMITABH or VIJJU arrives from paris to protect Acp who is his legal son...yes legal :p Vijju was a gangster and a hitman and came back from paris for his last mission that is to protect his son,the only thing which pisses him off is calling him "buddha".
Thus vijju at every point protects his son and helps him with his girlfriend which he describes as "setting" LOL slowly and gradually vijju penetrates into the underworld and discovers his son's enemies and eliminates them cleverly.

The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 1

Finally your wait is over, In the highly anticipated next chapter of the block buster The Twilight Saga, the new found married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.

After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal.

But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee, sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.
The suspenseful and deeply romantic Breaking Dawn continues the epic tale of supernatural fantasy and passionate love that has made The Twilight Saga a worldwide phenomenon.

It was announced on April 28, 2010 that Bill Condon will direct the film. On July 5, Melissa Rosenberg, the official screenwriter for Twilight, announced that Breaking Dawn will remain a PG-13 movie. She added that, quote: "I think we can get awfully [hot] with PG-13. I'm not worried about the rating. I know a lot of fans are like, 'We have to go R to do it justice', but I don't think so. I think it's going to be pretty hot. Way hot.

Producer Wyck Godfrey announced that the first part will cover the wedding, the honeymoon and the birth. The film ends just before Bella "embarks on her supernatural transformation". Godfrey said about Jacob's book, "The story will break from Bella and follow Jacob throughout the course of the movie as he struggles with his own dilemma. There is a sense that as Bella and the Cullens deals with her pregnancy; the world is still turning outside with Jacob."

My Best Friend's Wedding- Movie Review

This is a 1997 movie directed by P.J.Hogan starring Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Rupert Everett and Dermot Mulroney. Being honest, it is a total Julia Roberts film. The film was a great commercial success being one of the top grossing movies of '97.

Movie stars Julia as Julianne, a food critic and Dermot as her best friend and both promised eacother that if they wont find anybody to love till they are 28, they will marry eachother. It's 3 weeks befor Julianne's 28th birthday and she gets a call from Michael (Mulroney) that he is engaged.

Julianne tells the entire story to her editor/ gay friend George (Everett). So she flies to attend the wedding and at the airport she meets the 20 year old Kimberly Wallace (Diaz), a student of University of Chicago. Julianne feels she is not right for Michael and she must stop the wedding and marry Michael eventually. Michael told so much about Julianne to Kim that she considers Julianne as her new best friend and asks her to be the maid of honour and she accepts. She meets Kim's family who very wealthy and are glad to have her.

The wedding is in 4 days and Julianne has to call off the wedding, get the groom and marry him so throughout, all that time she talks to Michael of being sure to marry Kim and when he says he is, she makes all of the most desperate efforts to lead them to call it off and also seeks help from her gay friend, George.

The film is a wonderful laughter ride with the best of Julia's comedy and timing also of Diaz's and Rupert Everett. Being a fantastic movie, it is also considered as one of the best time-passing/ comedy movies.

The film also features a terrific soundtrack, hence being nominated for an OSCAR for Best Music or Original score. It also features the hit single "Say a little prayer (for you) covered by the entire cast, originally sung by Diana King.

When I first saw the movie, I immediately loved it and also loved Cameron Diaz. Since 1999, when I first saw the movie to last week, when I last saw the movie, I never get bored of it and there is always a joy and a comic factor to watch it; be it over and over again. It may not be the best movie or anything, its just a simple a good comedy movie or better to say 'just a Julia Roberts movie.'

My Ratings: 7.5/10 :)

The Reader - Movie Review

The Reader (2008) is a movie based on the novel by the same by Bernhard Schlink in 1995.

The movie stars Kate Winslet in her Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG winning role as NAZI in WW-II with a hidden past but earlier as a seductive woman who goes on to have an affair with a boy half her age, Michael Berg played by German actor David Kross.

The two have an intimate affair that lasts only a summer and Michael begins to fall in love with Hanna (Winslet). The story takes a turn when Hanna suddenly vanishes. The two meet eachother after 8 years however in entirely different circumstances.

Hanna is on trial among several accused women in a case during WW-II as Hanna worked as an SS Guard. As the case continues, Michael (now a law student) finds it harder seeing her on the trial, also never meeting her there. As her case approaches a verdict, Michael comes to know she is innocent and now knows her secret, only he can't prove it and she herself doesn't want to.

Her secret was that she was illiterate and couldn't read and write.

The movies continues and goes through so much of deep emotions.

This movie was one of the best and hadn't Slumdog Millionaire been released that year, the Oscar would have gone to The Reader!

In this movie, Kate Winslet gives her most down-to-earth and most spectacular performance, so does David Kross and Ralph Fiennes. This movie is a bit slow but it is beautiful!

My ratings: 9/10

I AM NUMBER FOUR

A brief action sequence that opens the movie establishes the fact that a handful of good aliens from the doomed planet of Lorien are being hunted on Earth by villainous ones called Mogadorians. These baddies are eliminating nine good Loriens in numerical order; Number Three meets his fate in the opening, thus letting the target fall to Number Four (Pettyfer). The film gives no clue as to whom or what established this pecking order.

Number Four and his protector (Timothy Olyphant), masquerading as his father, flee their identities in the Florida Keys for brand-new ones in the small town of Paradise, Ohio. As “John Smith,” Number Four enters a high school that even one character is forced to admit consists of clichés run amok: A male clique surrounding the school’s star quarterback bullies a geek who believes in UFOs; and a beautiful cheerleader only wants to escape the gravitational pull of these thick-headed jocks. Number Four is ordered to keep a low profile by his protector, which is hard to do when your hands glow like light bulbs and you can toss around football players and police cars like matchsticks. So Number Four has a very hard time staying off YouTube, which is why the Mogadorians, lead by a hammy Kevin Durand, are hot on his trail.

I Am Number Four is mostly a missed opportunity. The film plugs into some genuine teen angst and identity confusion that might have dovetailed nicely with its sci-fi elements. Instead these two realities, a high school with its many melodramas and aliens chasing each other around the country, operate on parallel tracks. At times it feels like the reels from two very different movies got mixed up in the projection booth. The idea here is nifty; the execution mostly pedestrian.

Even the ending as it relates to the teenagers in love feels weird. Perhaps the filmmakers are setting up a sequel, but this film’s final note is most unsatisfying.
